Information Model in PIM MARKETPROVIDER
1. Overview
The Information Model in PIM MARKETPROVIDER allows you to define attributes (characteristics) and attribute groups for a specific final category.
2. Accessing the Information Model
- Open the “Settings” of the category for which you need to create or modify the Information Model.
- Go to the “Information Model” tab.
- Select the required method of creation or editing (for example, manually or using the Constructor).
3. Creating an Information Model
3.1. Creating from Scratch (Full or Constructor)
- Full / Advanced option: manually add all attributes and configure their parameters.
- Constructor: a quick and simple method for step-by-step addition of attributes and groups.
Regardless of which option you choose, the following buttons are available:
- “Add Attribute”
- “Add Attribute Group”
4. Managing Attributes
4.1. Adding Attributes
- Click “Add Attribute.”
- Select the group to which this attribute will belong. If necessary, use a system group (for example, “Additional Attributes”).
- Select one or more attributes from the list.
- Save your changes.
4.2. Adding an Attribute Group
- Click “Add Group.”
- Choose one or more groups you wish to add.
- Save your changes.
By changing attribute settings in a specific category, you do not affect their global (system-wide) settings.
After adding a new attribute to the group, activate it in the information model.
4.3. Attribute Types and Dictionaries
For attributes of type “List,” “Multiple List,” or “Number with Unit,” you can limit the dictionary values to only those relevant for the given category.
4.4. Data Source
When configuring an attribute, you can specify how data will be loaded and exported:
- User Input: the data is entered manually by a user.
- Channel: the data is taken from an external source (e.g., an ERP).
If a channel is launched “with all links” or “with selected links,” data will only be loaded into attributes whose data source is Channel. In doing so, fields set to User Input may be overwritten if settings are not carefully managed.
5. Activating/Deactivating and Deleting Attributes
5.1. Deactivating an Attribute
- By disabling an attribute, you hide it in the product card.
- To deactivate it, uncheck the corresponding box or toggle in the attribute settings.
5.2. Deleting an Attribute
- By completely deleting an attribute from the Information Model, you remove all values of that attribute across all products where it was used.
- Proceed with caution to avoid losing important data.
6. Deleting Groups and the Information Model
6.1. Deleting a Group
- Click “Delete” next to the group name.
- If necessary, confirm or cancel the action before the group is permanently removed.
6.2. Deleting the Information Model
- In the category “Settings,” select “Delete Information Model.”
- If there are products in that category, the system may prevent deletion until you move or delete those products.
7. Changing the Order of Groups and Attributes
7.1. Moving Groups
- Drag the group to the desired position.
- Save your changes if necessary.
7.2. Changing the Order of Attributes Within a Group
- Drag the attributes to rearrange their order.
- Save your changes.
8. SPU Variants and Options
On the “Variants” tab, you can specify different attributes for SKUs under a single SPU (Stock Product Unit).
- Click “Create Variant List” and choose the attributes that differ (e.g., size or color).
- Modify the list as needed, adding or removing attributes.
- If the set of variants is no longer needed, it can be deleted.
9. Practical Examples (Information Model)

- Group: “Fabrics and Materials” (e.g., Lining Material, Fabric Composition, etc.)
-
Example: “Computers” Category
- Group: “Specifications” (e.g., Processor Type, RAM Size, Storage, etc.)
